The Police Chief responded assaults are up 215% through July 31; stated August numbers are up 194%. Councilmember Herrera Spencer stated the numbers are a significant increase; robberies are shown at a negative 8.8% year to date; inquired how many of the robberies included guns; noted not every robbery includes a gun.
