COUNCIL REFERRALS (20-335) Consider Sending a Letter to Alameda County Requesting Assistance in Protecting Essential Workers, Especially Grocery Store and Retail Drug Store Employees during the COVID-19 Pandemic. (Councilmember Vella) Councilmember Vella gave a brief presentation. Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft stated safeguards are in place, but more could be done; the letter is well stated; an upcoming testing facility would provide the opportunity for essential workers. Councilmember Vella moved approval of authorizing the City Manager to send a letter on City letterhead with whichever Councilmembers that would like to sign in support of the referral. Councilmember Oddie seconded the motion, which carried by the following roll call vote: Councilmembers Daysog: Aye; Knox White: Aye; Oddie: Aye; Vella: Aye; and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft: Aye. Ayes: 5. COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS None.
