(Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft) Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft gave a brief presentation. The City Manager discussed an option to partner with a foundation to create more opportunities for business grants and reaching out for donations. Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft stated staff is working on the item and will come back to Council May 19th; inquired whether Council would consider directing staff to explore creating a tax-exempt special fund to provide gap resources for local small business. Vice Mayor Knox White inquired whether the direction had been provided at the previous Council meeting. Councilmember Oddie moved approval of the referral. Vice Mayor Knox White seconded the motion, which carried by the following roll call vote: Councilmembers Daysog: Aye; Knox White: Aye; Oddie: Aye; Vella: Aye; and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft: Aye. Ayes: 5. COUNCIL COMMUNICATIONS None.
