Mayor Spencer inquired why the issue is coming before Council now and not in 2014. The Planning Services Manager responded the project has been approved; stated the applicants are pulling building permits; what is currently before Council is the request to split the parcel into two lots. Vice Mayor Vella inquired why the parcel needs to be split. The Planning Services Manager responded the financing criteria requires the hotel to be on its own lot.
