ORAL COMMUNICATIONS, NON-AGENDA (16-265) Alison Greene, Alameda, read statements from Heather Little and herself, urged the City to start building safety into development plans; stated conversations need to be started around bicycle safety, daylighting street corners and marking crosswalks; requested more resources go to Bike Walk Alameda; thanked the Police Chief for discussions on community involvement in traffic safety; thanked everyone for joining their safety campaigns; encouraged everyone to keep working together. Tara Etayo, Alameda, stated that she supports slowing down traffic in the City of Alameda; every street in Alameda is residential and traffic needs to slow down. Amy Rose, Alameda PEEPS, stated there used to be a lot of stories of people getting hit or almost hit; she appreciates the stepped up traffic enforcement; there is a need for more traffic signs. Kristen Welch, Alameda, stated she is scared her children will get hit on the way to school; the City needs more stop signs and traffic signs.
