Councilmember Matarrese stated compact fluorescent bulbs cannot go into the trash; inquired whether staff is working on the matter. The Alameda Municipal Power General Manager - Customer Resources responded a flyer informs customers how to property dispose compact fluorescent bulbs; stated people can take the bulbs to Encinal Hardware and Pagano's Hardware for disposal. Councilmember Matarrese stated the issue needs to be amped up; hazardous bulbs end up in landfill. The Alameda Municipal Power General Manager - Customer Resources stated more customer outreach could be done. Mayor Johnson stated the City should have more drop off locations. Vice Mayor deHaan inquired whether drop offs could be done at City Hall. Mayor Johnson responded batteries could be dropped off at City Hall.
