Councilmember Gilmore inquired whether the new system would provide the exact location of a 911 call, to which the Deputy City Manager responded that she would check. Councilmember Gilmore stated that she would like the new system to have clear transfer and conference buttons. Councilmember Tam inquired whether the new system would have conferencing ability, to which the Deputy City Manager responded in the affirmative. Councilmember Gilmore inquired whether the City has the bandwidth to handle everything. The Interim City Manager responded staff initially estimated a cost savings of $165,000 per year; the $165,000 savings could be used to do something with the overall City computer system, turning a liability into an asset.
