The Interim City Manager responded approximately $55,000 stated $18,000 to $22,000 is generated per year. Councilmember Tam inquired whether the money could not be used for anything else, to which the Interim City Manager responded in the affirmative. Councilmember Matarrese stated the system seems like a good replacement a physical protocol takes advantage of the City's Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT) i that he wants to ensure there is protection that CodeRED would not sell the list to someone else; having recourse is important in case the system is misused encryption and security are necessary. Mayor Johnson stated people need to have a clear understanding of what to do when a call is received; an evacuation plan should be completed and posted to the website.
