Councilmember Gilmore stated costs estimates should be available by the end of the year; inquired whether real-world field testing would be available once eastern Alameda County units are working. Mr. McCammon responded in the affirmative. stated real-world testing would be done before anyone comes on to ensure that the system performs in the way it is designed to perform; ratios purchased would be compatible on the new system because Alameda is on the County's 800 MHz system. Mayor Johnson inquired whether the EBRCS operates on 800 MHz. Mr. McCammon responded in the affirmative; stated 700 MHz would be available and would fold into the system.
